Exercise affects all aspects of your life, not just being able to fight. Gaining muscle increases your metabolism, helps regulate blood sugar, and allows you to perform day to day functions at higher levels with less injury. Working hard also releases beneficial chemicals in the brain making you more resilient to stress and lifting your mood.
Mobility and Strength
We do not create bodybuilders. Our classes will push you to extend into your lifts which both increases load on the muscle leading to higher gains while simultaneously increasing flexibility. All classes are instructor led so that we can monitor your form and keep you safe as you bring the intensity!
Endurance and Explosiveness
As fighters we need particular kinds of exercise to become the most dangerous versions of ourselves. Street fights last an average of 8-12 seconds but with multiple attackers or when they become a ground struggle this time can extend out. The person with the larger gas tank has a huge advantage. Coupled with the fact that fighting is a repetition of max effort explosions it is a different kind of animal than steady state cardio such as running or biking. Our training prepares you for thirty seconds we hope never happens.
Get Your Sleep
No matter what your goals are, sleep is imperative. Learning is triggered during bouts of focus which should not exceed 90 minutes. However, the actual rewiring of neural circuits happens during sleep. The same is true for gaining muscle. When lifting micro tears are created in the muscle tissue, these are then repaired during sleep. So come in, work hard, have fun, and get the ZZzzs.
